This boss is the fourth boss in the game Valheim and is located in the "Mountains" biome. Moder is a very powerful dragon, and defeating it will be a real challenge. Even well-equipped characters may encounter some difficulties in the battle.

How to Summon Moder

Tradition dictates that first you need to perform a special ritual at the altar, which is located in the mountains. To activate it, you need to interact with a stone tablet. It is also located in the mountains. Before you find the tablet, skeletons and other monsters will attack you. 

How to identify the altar? There are sacrificial bowls near it, into which you need to place the dragon eggs. 

Where to Find Dragon Eggs

They are located in the "Mountains" biome in special nests. The eggs emit a purple light, so they will be easy to find against the snow. The eggs are scattered throughout the region, so you will have to search a bit. Only one egg can be carried in your inventory. There will be small dragons flying around each item, and you will have to defeat them.

Battle Strategy Against the Dragon

First and foremost, you will need warm clothing. We recommend using wolf armor, which is made from wolf hide and silver. Before obtaining silver, you will have to defeat the Bonemass boss. Also, bring a few bottles of mead with you, as it keeps you warm.  

Your opponent can fly as well as walk on the ground. It usually resorts to three types of attacks. When the dragon is in the air, it drops freezing orbs that freeze a certain area. When Moder lands, it attacks with its claws or icy breath.  

Beware of the frost attacks first, as they deal significant damage to your character and slow them down. If the boss hits you with this weapon, it will follow up with a claw attack. To thaw quickly, it's best to use mead.  

The only consolation is that Moder prepares for the attack for some time. It's best to attack the boss during its roar, as it is most vulnerable at that moment. 

This boss is not as easy as it seems, but it won't cause more trouble than the previous monster. 

What You'll Get for Killing the Boss

Once you defeat the monster, you will receive the "Moder" trophy. Take it immediately to the stone circle - it will give you additional power that your character has long forgotten, namely "Sailor's Oar". This ability allows you to move several times faster on water. 

The boss will also give you 10 "Dragon Tears", which will be useful for constructing the artisan table.
