The legendary survival horror Silent Hill 2 was released by publisher Konami back in 2001, becoming a classic of its genre. In October 2022, the first official trailer for the remake was presented. The game will be available on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. 

What will the Silent Hill 2 remake be about?

The remake follows the plot of the original game. The main character, James Sunderland, receives a letter from his wife Mary, who died of an illness several years ago. She invites him to visit a place where they were once happy together: the small resort town of Silent Hill. 

James decides to find out how he received this letter and who sent it, so he heads to Silent Hill. But now, it is no longer the warm, cozy place he knew, but an abandoned, foggy town filled with monsters. As in the original, James must confront his inner demons and understand what truly brought him to the terrifying Silent Hill. 

When will the Silent Hill 2 remake be released?

The official release date is October 8, 2024. Several gameplay trailers have already been released on the PlayStation YouTube channel, suggesting that the new Silent Hill will resemble Resident Evil, whose second part was released as a remake in 2019 and may have influenced Konami's decision. The trend of reviving classics continues to gain popularity among development companies.
