The distinctive feature of the Nutcracker is that it is armed with the same shotgun that you can acquire from it. This is a quite dangerous mob that can quickly eliminate half of the team with its shots.

Hazards of the Nutcracker

The Nutcracker is a formidable opponent that appears on moons with increased difficulty: Titan, Rend, Dine. Therefore, you won't encounter it at the start of the game.

The likelihood of encountering the Nutcracker on different planets is as follows:

• 85-Rend – 25.91%
• 8-Titan – 12.59%
• 7-Dine – 12.27%
• 61-March – 0.98%
• 21-Offence – 0.95%
• 41-Experimentation – 0.44%
• 220-Assurance – 0.31%

As you can see, the likelihood of encountering the Nutcracker doesn't even reach 1%, so it's better not to waste time searching for it.

The Nutcracker will be waiting for you in one of the locations, sitting in place or patrolling the territory. As soon as you approach it, the monster will open one eye, scan the area, and start shooting the team members with the shotgun. If you get too close to the opponent, it will put away the shotgun and start repelling players with deadly strikes.

How to Defeat the Nutcracker

Fighting the Nutcracker will be challenging: we recommend stocking up on equipment, a shocker, and flashbang grenades. To quickly defeat the opponent, follow this tactic:

• The Nutcracker reacts instantly to the appearance of the Employee. Even if you don't move and stop as soon as you notice the Nutcracker, it will start attacking. Rotating the camera, even if you stand still, will be considered as movement;
• The Nutcracker is invulnerable while its eyes are closed. This means it's not in patrol mode. If the eyes are open, the monster can be attacked;
• Attack speed of the opponent: shotgun – 1 second, reload – 1.5 seconds, close-range hit – instant;
• You can recognize the appearance of the Nutcracker in advance by the characteristic sounds of shotgun reloading;
• It's best to attack the monster after it makes two shots and starts reloading. At this moment, it's best to stun it with a shocker or a flashbang grenade, and then deliver blows with a shovel;
• It takes 4-5 shovel hits to kill the Nutcracker;
• Use teamwork. While one player stuns the opponent, others can attack with shovels;
• If you didn't manage to kill the Nutcracker after the first reload, and it wakes up, try to move away to the side. Don't stand too close to the opponent;
• Don't fight the Nutcracker in long and narrow spaces. The chance of getting hit by a shot is too high. Choose open rooms with the possibility of moving around corners and through doorways in the walls;
• A kick from the Nutcracker kills players instantly;
• If you already have the shotgun and encounter the Nutcracker again, 1 shot is enough to kill it;
• Contrary to rumors and myths, there's no working way to steal the shotgun from a live Nutcracker;
• A player can withstand 4 shots. The closer the shot is made, the more damage you receive.

The number of bullets that will drop after killing the Nutcracker depends on how many it spent on players. The guaranteed amount is 2, and the maximum is 4. If desired, you can use the mob's shots against other monsters. To do this, you need to be agile and maneuver between shots.

Killing the Nutcracker is the only way to get the shotgun in Lethal Company. Purchasing the weapon in the terminal, as well as scrapping it for metal, is impossible.
