"Thousand Week Reich" is an alternate history mod that aims to bring realism and darkness to the old concept of Axis victory in World War II. The year is 1952. Over a nightmarish Europe looms the specter of fascist domination. Western powers, led by the rising United States and the exhausted but unbroken United Kingdom, are preparing to challenge the wavering German superpower. After the victory at Dunkirk and a long, grueling war with the Soviet Union, Germany's brutal and tyrannical rule over Europe appears outwardly unshakable. But the aging and ailing Hitler introduces instability, and uprisings threaten to destroy this "New Order." Meanwhile, the waves caused by Europe's collapse ripple around the world, altering the course of history. European colonial empires are crumbling, and the rising Chinese Republic seeks to fill the vacuum left by defeated Japan. Although the memory of the war is still fresh in people's minds, this twisted status quo cannot last forever.

For over a century, the British Empire ruled nearly a billion people, dominating all the oceans and holdings on every continent. The ancient Habsburg dynasty reigned over Central Europe and beyond, the Romanovs triumphed from the Baltic to the Pacific, and the world seemed shrouded in a unified European civilization. It was meant to be a path of progress, a world illuminated by European culture. A global empire destined to last a thousand years and more. Tesla's innovations sparked a Second Renaissance, the most significant period of technological advancement since the Industrial Revolution. Wireless energy brought the unimaginable to life and united the world, and for a time, it seemed Tesla's dream of happiness for all humanity was achievable. However, humanity proved unprepared for such lofty goals. The Great War that erupted between the imperial powers and the Latin Bourbon dynasties tore the world apart. Progress, once aimed at eliminating want, turned into an endless and hellish nightmare. Young Japan plunged into revolution and civil war, Spain descended into anarchy, and the three-century-old Bourbon dynasty fell. The post-war world was scarred and wounded, a whole generation wasted on futile peace negotiations. As the new year 1933 dawns, the world enters an era of instability. France seeks to reclaim its role as the dominant power in Europe, while Russia endures waves of bitter revanchism from its crippled victory. Republican Japan emerges from isolation, ready to unleash a wave of Pan-Asian revolution. Across the Atlantic, the United Commonwealth increasingly asserts itself, threatening to tear apart the British Empire as ancient Rome was once shattered. No one can say with certainty what the future holds, but one thing is clear—Pax Britannica is about to fall.

The mod content focuses on role-playing, and the developers will constantly update it to keep the gameplay relevant. Currently, focus trees for Italy, France (more extensive than they might seem at first glance, depending on the chosen ideology), Iraq, and the Ottoman tree for Turkey are completed. Future updates will include focus trees for all countries. The "Europe in Flames: AGORA" mod has introduced the following changes and updates: - Italy has been weakened in terms of aviation and cannot improve this situation until 1938. - French tank divisions have been updated. - A new focus tree for Norway has been added. - Civilian factory construction decisions have been added to Spain. - Puppet states can no longer create new puppets or release existing ones. - Italy's decisions regarding Yugoslavia have been updated. - The ability to force scientists to work in fascist and communist countries has been added. - Germany's "Mefo Bills" have been weakened. - The "Ural Focus" for the Soviet Union has been strengthened. - The Soviet economic focus can now be obtained in 1941 (it is not necessary to defeat a major power in battle). - New special units have been added: Jägers, jungle infantry, desert infantry, and shock troops (with flamethrower support). - Puppet states can no longer choose focuses on civilian industry in the general focus tree. - In Germany, General Walter Wenck has been added, along with another general whose name we did not know; he is now called Max Kriegsmarine. - A focus tree for Azerbaijan has been added (the USSR can annex it if desired or leave Azerbaijan free, transferring all its oil to Dagestan).

The year is 1962, and Europe is under harsh control. The Second World War ended twenty years ago, but its legacy lives on. The German Reich dominates from the Atlantic to Moscow. Thousands suffer and die daily under German oppression, dreaming of a freedom that may never come. But not all is well within the Reich. Hitler is on his deathbed, and as the first German astronaut lands on the Moon, internal strife is already beginning. Albert Speer, Martin Bormann, Hermann Göring, and Reinhard Heydrich are preparing to seize power, and the world holds its breath, awaiting the coming storm. Outside the Reichstag in the megacity of Germania, partisans are gearing up for a final battle, while Heinrich Himmler schemes to bring the world to disaster from his Spartan utopian state in Orderstadt Burgundy. Across the Atlantic, the United States is rallying allies to prevent the collapse of democracy worldwide, trying to overcome internal political disputes and renegotiate the treaties that ended the Second World War. In Asia, the Japanese Empire is fracturing under the pressure of internal and external enemies, as hundreds of different cultures begin to collaborate to overthrow their oppressors. In the Mediterranean, the old alliance is torn apart by internal conflicts. A reformer in Italy strives to create a bastion of democracy in Europe, while the aging Franco fights for control over Iberia. Russia is fragmented, with numerous military leaders attempting to piece together the shattered country and restore what was lost with Bukharin. The world teeters on the edge of destruction. Will it witness a new millennium, or is this the beginning of the end?

If you're looking to play Hearts of Iron IV in "vanilla" mode (without mods) but find the AI too weak and lacking challenge, this mod is made for you. It overhauls nearly everything that can be modified in the AI (adding over fifty thousand lines of scripts) to make it more effective. This includes division design, production of divisions and equipment, doctrine development, research, diplomacy, construction, naval invasions, ideas, and much more. In short, the mod improves how the AI manages its country as a whole. The vanilla version of the game has significant room for improvement in these areas. The only aspect that hasn’t been enhanced is how the AI moves its divisions and fleets, with only minor adjustments made, as this is predominantly unmodifiable. Additionally, the mod introduces completely new features for the AI, such as: - AI Army Focus Scripting System: Allows each AI to choose from a range of different strategies and logically prioritize research and doctrine design, rather than following the same template in every game. The mod includes over 400 variations of templates, giving the AI flexibility and increasing replayability. - New Military Coordination Decisions: New diplomatic actions for players to influence the actions of their allies, such as coordinating naval invasions, adjusting production priorities, checking their reserves, and coordinating lend-lease.
