Charlotte in Genshin Impact: build, artifacts, weapons, best teams

7 nov 2023 at 20:36

Charlotte is a Cryo catalyst who joined the ranks of game heroes in the 4.2 update. By profession, she is a paparazzi, but in terms of skills, she's a healer who tends to apply Cryo status periodically as a character who is responsible for applying the Cryo status, being present on the field for most of the game. Trying to extrapolate high damage expectations for her is useless, as you can only achieve substantial multipliers with the help of Shenhe. To understand, the closest analog to her is Qiqi, providing healing and periodic Cryo application to enemies. Charlotte is somewhat similar, but she's more convenient due to a stable energy generation and, on average, more status application (thanks to a well-thought-out skill activation mechanic, having a book - a permanent infusion - in hand, and general availability).

Charlotte's Abilities in Genshin Impact

A brief overview of the gameplay:

Elemental Skill (E, E-skill, Framing: Freezing Point Composition)
It has two types of presses, short and long. We are specifically interested in the second, as its duration and damage are higher. However, it has an inconvenience – the skill requires about three seconds in ideal conditions. During camera focusing (performed in two stages), the character doesn't receive any interruption resistance, even though she can move, which poses some risk of taking an enemy hit. It places marks on enemies, dealing damage every 1.5 seconds.

Elemental Burst (Q, Q-skill, Still Photo: Comprehensive Confirmation)
Effectively, it's a one-time burst of healing with a small amount of Cryo in a small radius.

Passive Talents

  • "Moment of Impact" removes the cooldown on using the long E variation. Given that a small window for multiple waves of small enemies is formed within 6 seconds (12 seconds of duration, 18 seconds of cooldown), it's quite useful.
  • "Diversified Investigation" is equally valuable to all members of the Fontaine team, and the more Fontaine characters are in the party, the more beneficial it becomes.
  • "First-Person Shutter" provides a special shooting mode, perfect for those who love hunting for beautiful/memorable screenshots.

Charlotte's Talent Priority

Both at C0 and C6, prioritize Q > E > (?) A. The priority between Q and E is somewhat debatable - before leveling up, it's advisable to determine your team composition because sometimes even minimal damage contribution makes sense, and in some cases, healing is clearly more needed.

Best Weapons for Charlotte

1. Skyward Atlas
Since the journalist's healing scales with attack power, catalysts with this attribute will always be the most effective. The "Atlas" itself excels in this regard more than others.

2. Memory of Dust
The weapon's passive effect won't go to waste when used with Charlotte as a driver.

3. Oathsworn Eye
It's an ideal catalyst in all aspects. It's unfortunate that it's event-exclusive and not available to everyone.

4. Favonius Codex
It allows you to provide energy to yourself and your team but requires you to have crit rate in your stats.

5. Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers and Kagura's Verity
Both realize the underdeveloped ability to deal damage.

Best Artifacts for Charlotte

1. Tenacity of the Millelith
This is what you will most likely use. Since the bonus applies to all party members, the character can also use it to increase the amount of healing.

2. Noblesse Oblige
It encourages you to use your ultimate ability as soon as it's off cooldown, but you won't neglect it.

3. Maiden Beloved
If you happen to have an unused set, feel free to equip it.

4. Ocean-Hued Clam
The set effect activates with Charlotte not so often to intentionally gather it.

5. Deepwood Memories
For setups where you rely on Dendro damage and there's no other carrier.

In addition to the above, we can note 2+2 combinations of the mentioned sets/Shimenawa's Reminiscence/Emblem of Severed Fate/Gladiator's Finale. For those who want to maximize damage, we recommend Golden Troupe, Gilded Dreams (including playing it backward from Tayania), Lavawalker, and Blizzard Strayer.

Charlotte's Stats

For a support character:
• Crown (Circlet of Logos) – Healing Bonus/Attack/Crit Rate
• Goblet (Goblet of Eonothem) – Attack
• Sands (Sands of Eon) – Attack/Energy Recharge
Stat priority: % Attack > Energy Recharge > Crit Rate > Flat Attack
Benchmark: 3000+ Attack, 220+ % ER (if the sole Cryo character without any Favonius in the party and at C0; C4 – 190+ % ER).

Charlotte's Constellations

Comments on their necessity.

C1 – Insignificant increase in healing but can save from lethal damage (if the ultimate was unintentionally used too early).
C2 – Has a significant impact on healing abilities.
C4 – Slightly enhances Q and, more pleasantly, reduces its cost, lowering the ER requirements by 30%.
C6 – Triggers about twice per rotation and doesn't exactly qualify as a worthy C6. Combined with the other constellations, it's perceived as a minor addition.

Future mainers should pay special attention to C2 and C4 – these are Charlotte's key constellations, making her gameplay slightly more enjoyable.

Best Teams for Charlotte

In most squads, Charlotte is considered and positioned as a healer. In other cases, the opposite is indicated.

Frozen

Examples:

  • Charlotte, Wriothesley, Furina, Kazuha
  • Charlotte, Ayaka, Mona/Kokomi, Kazuha/Venti
  • Charlotte, Rosaria, Xingqiu, Sucrose/Lynette

Based on the Cryo+Hydro reaction and creating statues. Accordingly, it is mostly applicable against groups of enemies.

  • Monocryo

Example:

  • Charlotte, Shenhe, Ayaka/Ganyu/Rosaria/Kaeya, Kazuha

Shenhe is irreplaceable here.

Physical Team

Examples:

  • Charlotte, Eula, Yun Jin, Mika/Zhongli
  • Charlotte, Freminet, Yelan, Raiden Shogun
  • Charlotte, Fischl, Rosaria, Zhongli/Bennett

We play the journalist as a battery, a character that provides Cryo for Superconduct, and simultaneously, as listed, a healer.

Bloom

Examples:

  • Charlotte, Nilou, Nahida, Furina/Kokomi
  • Charlotte, Kaveh, Traveler Dendro, Yelan

Freeze and blooms are effective against mobs due to the status' characteristics.

Hyper-bloom and Burgeon

Examples:

  • Charlotte, Raiden Shogun, Nahida, Furina
  • Charlotte, Kuki, Ayato, Traveler Dendro
  • Charlotte, Thoma, Xingqiu, Nahida
  • Charlotte, Dehya, Yelan, Nahida/Baizhu

Reverse Melt

Examples:

  • Charlotte, Xiangling, Bennett, Kazuha/Furina
  • Charlotte, Rosaria/Kaeya, Xiangling, Bennett

For Charlotte with crits.

Good luck!
