Very recently, a global update was released in Genshin Impact, introducing numerous sub-locations within the Hydro region of Fontaine. But how do you pave your way to exploration? Let's find out right now, in this guide.

How to Unlock and Access Fontaine

As of the 4.0 update, you can access Fontaine only through the inlet to the northwest of the Sumaru Desert. Teleport to the nearest unlocked teleport waypoint in the region of the Farachkert Kingdom, as shown in the screenshot. 

If you have already completed the story quest "Song of the Dragon and Freedom," the mentioned teleport waypoint will be activated automatically. Then, you need to move forward - to expedite the process, there's a dock nearby, so you won't need to swim - until you reach the structure near the waterfall. Use the nearest Statue of The Seven as a reference point to ensure you won't get lost. Climb the stairs and call the elevator - it will take you to the top.
