"Mother of the Muses" is a quest in Genshin Impact that continues the questline "Search in the Algae Sea." Together with Caterpillar, you have concluded that to restore the power of the Sword of Narzissenkreuz, you need to collect 4 seals. To obtain each one, you must complete a mini-quest and solve a riddle.

Find the Seal

The first riddle can be found in the Morte Region. Teleport to the marker near the Statue of The Seven. From the teleport point, descend into the pit within the structure, where you'll find a Mitachurl and a couple of Hilichurls sitting nearby. Defeat them to obtain a common chest if you haven't already.

Descend the stairs and interact with the mechanism to acquire the Xenochromatic Ball Octopus ability. Use this skill to aim at the valve and open the gate, allowing you to proceed. Be quick, as the gate will close if you take too long.

Proceed further and open the next gate using the same method. Descend to the marker located beneath the arch, where you'll be ambushed by Rockfond Rifthound Whelps. Deal with them.

Examine the Tablet

To proceed, you need to solve the riddle inscribed on a stone tablet. You must guess an object or a process described by the following statements:

• "Appears instantly";
• "Diverges from you, never leaves you even in sleep, always inseparable from you";
• "Not subject to any bright flame".

The correct answer is Shadow. If you answer incorrectly, don't worry; Caterpillar will prompt you to think again, and another attempt will be provided.

Solve Ortant's Riddle and Obtain a Memory Fragment

Once you provide the correct answer, you can proceed to the final riddle of the quest. Examine the device in the center. Take note of the two devices on either side of the device – you need to direct two beams from them. To do this, deal with the mechs and release energy streams using the Xenochromatic Ball Octopus ability.

Interact with the crystal, which will light up either yellow or blue. Your task is to raise the beam upwards, open the gate, and quickly run under it before it closes. Then, go back up and release energy to the central device.

Return and interact with the green crystal to collect the substance that will help restore the sword's power.

The quest will be completed, and immediately afterward, you will begin the next quest for removing the second seal, "Meteoric Lance."
