Fontaine added new enemies to the game – Local Legends, characterized by high HP and strong attacks. Some of them surpass the weekly bosses in power, and not all players can handle such opponents. The interesting part is that defeating each legend grants a secret achievement in the "Wonders of the World" section and 5 primogems.

Local Legend Liam – one of the new enemies added in Genshin Impact with the 4.2 update. Liam looks like a regular Treasure Hoarder but surprised players with his strength, capable of breaking through Zhongli's shields with a health pool of 50k.

Where to Find Liam

Liam is located to the east of the Weeping Willow of the Lake location. Teleport to the tree and descend the path to a small lake. The opponent will start attacking as soon as you approach. It's recommended to prepare for the battle beforehand.

How to Defeat Liam: Recommendations

Liam is not an easy opponent, and beginners are unlikely to handle him. You'll need to use your knowledge of mechanics, elements, and employ well-leveled characters with good damage or useful team buffs.

You definitely can't do without a healer and a shield character. You can either attack the opponent head-on, but you'll need a powerful shield and still dodge powerful attacks to avoid losing the shield after a single hit, or attack from a distance – the optimal choice. Therefore, you'll need either an archer or a catalyst user.

Party Composition

The choice of characters is not so critical. Ideally, your team should consist of:

• 1 – a strong and leveled dps: Eula, Bennett, Ganyu, Raiden, Hu Tao;
• 2 – a versatile support that buffs damage and supports the entire team: Bennett, Xingqiu, Xiangling, Kazuha, Albedo, Noelle;
• 3 – a healer-support: Diona, Jean, Charlotte, Kokomi, Baizhu;
• 4 – any other character that complements the team. If lacking healing, consider adding a shield character: Zhongli, Diona, Beidou.

Combine supports accordingly. For example, Zhongli's shield is powerful enough, so you may not need additional defense. You can even do without a healer if you dodge attacks in time and refresh the shield. However, adding a shield character to a healer is a good strategy.

In general, any powerful team will do. Equip the most leveled characters, healers, shields, and bring food just in case you find yourself struggling. Don't forget about archers – they significantly ease the battle.

Liam's Attacks

Liam has a lot of HP, so even experienced players spend 5-7 minutes in non-stop combat with him. His attacks can remove half of the health bar even from the strongest characters.

He attacks as follows:

• Long-range attacks: Throws projectiles with Electro and Pyro elements. Dodge them if possible, especially the fiery projectiles, which can be problematic for characters with low default health.



• More powerful long-range attacks: Liam throws a large Pyro projectile with a swing. A circle will appear on the battlefield indicating where it will land.



• Melee attacks: Creates electro circles that explode after some time, dealing area damage.

Focus on elemental damage – Liam constantly uses Pyro and Electro projectiles, which you can use against him. Characters like Kokomi with healing abilities will be very useful here.

If your characters are well-leveled and you don't have difficulty with any of the bosses, simply deal damage to him. Get up close, use shields, and continuously use elemental attacks, remembering to refresh the shield on cooldown.

For defeating the boss, you'll receive the "Liam" achievement and 5 primogems.
