Waiting for Dodger is a side quest and an assignment from Hands, which automatically starts after the quest "Old Wounds" (The Damned). To proceed with the main story, V (V) needs to complete any 3 assignments of their choice from the fixer.

The main advantage of completing the task is that you can acquire a powerful Roscoe's Revolver, but this can only be achieved after making the final choice at the end of the quest.

Waiting for Dodger: walkthrough

Mr. Hands will contact V and inform them about two police officers who have made a deal with Dodger (Dodger), one of Kurt Hansen's men. Your task is to help them get out of this mess and deal with Dodger.

Meet with Stella

Hands will direct you to Stella, the fiance of one of the officers. Her car will be located in the Kress Street area. Simply follow the marker and get into the car where Stella awaits you.

She will ask you to duck down so as not to be seen by Hansen's men and avoid trouble. Stella will further brief you, informing that her husband Bill and officer Charles are being held hostage in a nearby building. She'll also warn you not to engage in open combat and shoot Dodger's henchmen – this will lead to an additional conflict.

Enter the building

Take the access card from Stella, leave the car, and follow the marker into the building directly across. You can enter through an open door – this won't pose a problem.

Clear the area

Before finding Charles and Bill, you'll have to deal with all the guards inside. You can act openly or move stealthily, as we recommend in all of Hands' assignments.

Find Bill and Charles

After dealing with the enemies, head towards the main office area, turn left, enter the elevator, and go down to the basement.

Downstairs, you'll encounter a man talking to a locked door. Charles and Bill are located behind it. Neutralize the stranger to clear the way.

Enter the door where you'll finally meet Charles and Bill. Beside them will be a corpse, about which the men will elaborate. It turns out the undercover cops accidentally poisoned one of Hansen's men with a high dose of illicit substances. You need to help them sneak out and get into a patrol car to flee the crime scene.

Go down the nearby stairs and deal with another guard blocking your path.

Unlock the locked door

Ahead there will be another obstacle – a locked door, which can only be unlocked from the server room. You can either use your skills or opt for an alternative solution.

• If you have reached a strength level of 17+ – you can break the door with your own hands;
• Enter the adjacent server room and hack the terminal, which will open the door.

Lead Bill and Charles to the patrol car

Move straight ahead and keep fending off the appearing enemies. Following the markers, you will reach the parking lot where the patrol car is parked.

Your path will be interrupted by a car containing Dodger (or Акробат). The man will demand an explanation of what happened, to which Bill will try to defend himself. You have several response options available, which will affect the resolution of the conflict with Dodger:

• Support Bill and say he's telling the truth – Dodger will immediately become hostile and attack you;
• Admit that Bill is lying. Dodger will thank you for your honesty and won't attack unless you've harmed any of his people beforehand;
• Immediately draw your weapon. The fight will begin without any prior conversation and clarifications;
• If your Cool skill is above 20 – even if you've killed Dodger's people, the shootout won't start, and you can leave peacefully.

You can only get Roscoe's revolver if you engage in combat with Dodger and kill him. Otherwise, you'll simply have to leave the building with Charles and Bill. The quest will be completed either way, but you'll miss out on the most valuable reward.

The officers will get into the car and drive away, and Mister Hands (or Хэндс) will contact you, thanking you for completing the task and awarding you a reward of 8,000 credits.
