Reaching the plains biome in Valheim, you will not only face dangerous buzzing enemies, but also one of the most sought-after materials in the game - barley. Barley is a resource that you can use and cultivate after defeating the fourth boss Moudar.
Where does barley grow in Valheim
Barley is heavily guarded by numerous enemies (usually goblin shamans and their weaker assistants). The material itself can be found near goblin camps and settlements.
Upon reaching their place of residence, you will encounter a huge number of opponents. We recommend proceeding as follows: attack small fulings from a distance with a bow, and larger goblins or shamans - with close combat weapons.
Once you clear the fulings camp, find the barley field planted nearby. We recommend that you collect all the barley and use half of it to make flour, and the other half for reserves and planting.
Where to plant and what barley is needed for in Valheim
Unfortunately, barley does not grow in every Valheim biome. You will have to plant and cultivate it on fields. If you don't have a base on the plains, we recommend building one and using it to harvest barley.
Barley flour is needed for several culinary recipes, such as fish wraps, bread, blood pudding and salmon pie.
