5 mar 2021 at 10:40

Actually, without flax thread, you can't get by in Valheim. As soon as you find black metal, you can start searching for this material.

In this guide, we will tell you where to find and how to make flax thread in the game Valheim and what it's used for. Let's go!

Finding Flax

Head to the Plains biome, specifically to the Fuling villages, as that's where flax grows. Be careful, as there are death skeetos there, which are very dangerous enemies. The game is designed so that flax only grows in this area.

Enter the settlement and search the plots. You should come across cultivated patches where seeds are planted and ready to be harvested. It's worth noting that barley is much more common than flax. So, there's a high chance you'll have to explore multiple villages.

How to gather flax? Attack the area, and it will instantly harvest all the flax, which you can then collect. A mature plant will give you two units of flax, which you can later turn into thread at a spinning wheel. Take some seeds with you to plant them in safer locations.

How to Build a Spinning Wheel in Valheim

To craft anything from black metal, you'll need a spinning wheel and thread. You'll gain access to black metal early on, but to reach flax thread, you'll have to defeat the Deathsquito. The monster resides in the mountainous part of the Valheim world. Once you defeat it, you'll obtain the spinning wheel blueprint. Remember, you'll need a workbench to build it.

What materials are required?

  1. 20 units of fine wood;

  2. 10 units of iron nails;

  3. 5 units of leather scraps.

How to Make Flax Thread

First, build the spinning wheel, and then find the slot where you need to place the flax. It will turn into thread within half a minute. The spinning wheel can hold 40 units of flax, and the thread is produced automatically.

It is used to craft the following items from black metal:

  1. Axe;

  2. Knife;

  3. Sword;

  4. Glaive;

  5. Flax cape;

  6. Helm;
