GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition and the Crash of Gamer Expectations

13 nov 2021 at 21:02

The release of the GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, which many have been eagerly awaiting, has finally taken place. And the reviews of this collection, unfortunately, are not the most cheerful. Players were offered to evaluate the games on different platforms on a 10-point scale. And here are the results in the end:

  • For PS 5 - 1.5 points;
  • For Xbox Series X/S - 1.4 points;
  • For PC - 1 point;
  • For Xbox One and Switch - 0.9 points each;
  • For PS 4 - 0.5 points.

As we can see, the ratings leave much to be desired. What's the matter?

Gamers did not appreciate the changes in graphics. According to the players, the optimization is simply terrible, and the bugs that were present in the original games were not paid any attention at all. Gamers did not like the presence of censorship, which does not allow to appreciate the full potential of the game. For PC owners, the icing on the cake was the technical problems that made it impossible to launch GTA: The Trilogy for almost a day.
