How to install and launch an editor for creating mods in Mount And Blade: Bannerlord

Mods make games more interesting and allow players to add elements that developers didn't include. However, not all developers release officially well-crafted tools for creating modifications. Fortunately, this does not apply to the Mount And Blade series. TaleWorlds has released an official and very convenient tool that allows anyone interested to access the game files, modify the game world, balance, and create something of their own.

Modding Tool Installation Instructions

Regarding the modding tool, in order to start creating mods, you need to do the following:

- Make sure you have the latest version of Bannerlord because the editor won't work without it.

- Go to the game library, and at the top (above the search bar), you'll see "Games" or "Games and Tools." If it only says "Games," click on it and check the box next to "Tools".

- Now, in the search bar (in the library), type "Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord - Modding Kit." That's it - the desired page will open, where you can simply download the tools and launch them.

- The standard game launcher will open as if you were starting the game. Click "Play" and wait for it to load.

- Next, press the left CTRL + E keys together, and the modding editor will launch.

Editor Functionality

As you can see from the screenshots, the modding editor is quite user-friendly. This is not the final version, and the tools will continue to improve and be refined. However, even now, you can create very decent mods. Here are the features supported by the Mount And Blade 2 modding editor:

- Tool for placing various objects on the map.

- Landscape editing, including importing, exporting, and editing various details (you can add unique objects).

- Stat editing.

- Global map editing.

- Non-global map and level system editing.

- Character editing, their behavior, and more.

- Clothing, materials, skeleton, body, and NPC model editing.

- Particle editing.

All these tools greatly assist in mod creation and make the work easier. In essence, Mount And Blade 2: Bannerlord has tremendous potential for modding. The game can live on for a long time with user-made modifications. The developers understand this and actively support modders, which is commendable.
