"Wishes in the Lunar Lantern" in Genshin Impact: How to Play, Rewards, and More

The company MiHoYo has presented a brand new web event called "Moonlight Merriment" in Genshin Impact, during which players can receive free rewards for releasing lanterns and obtaining different types of Xiao (celestial) lanterns.

When to release the lanterns

Lantern Release: February 19, 2021, 13:00 - February 25, 2021, 23:59 (UTC+8)
Event Conclusion: February 26, 2021, 0:00 - February 26, 2021, 19:59 (UTC+8)
Reward Distribution: February 26, 2021, 20:00 - March 4, 2021, 23:59 (UTC+8)

How to participate

Travelers with an Adventure Rank of 10 or above can take part in the lantern day event. You can access the web event here and enter your miHoYo account information. If you are using a third-party account, you will need to link it to miHoYo.

If you play Genshin Impact on PlayStation, you will need to go to the Paimon menu and find the mail associated with this event. Now, scan the QR code with your phone's camera (after opening the event link) to participate in it. Do not delete the mail!

Travelers will need to release five types of Xiao lanterns to obtain the main prize, Primogems. Each lantern release will light up one type of celestial lantern. However, note that the lantern type may repeat.

Event Rewards

Little Surprise Box: the value of the contents is generated randomly. With each release, you will receive such a box, most often containing Mora, experience points, and more.

Main Prize Primogems: this gift will have the inscription "Happy New Year, Traveler from Another World!". After collecting all 5 types of lanterns, you will receive a gift consisting of a random number of Primogems for the event.
