Gothic Remake Demo Updated: What’s New

9 may 2025 at 17:28

Alkimia Interactive has released an update for the Gothic Remake demo, which was featured during Steam Next Fest. The update includes a range of technical improvements, balance adjustments, and optimizations aimed at enhancing the first impression of the reimagined classic RPG.

Key changes include an overhauled combat system, improved hit animations, and more responsive controls. The developers noted that they took into account player feedback regarding the character’s sluggish and “heavy” movement. Visual effects have also been refined, lighting improved, and GPU requirements reduced for low and medium settings. In addition, enemy AI has been enhanced—opponents are now more aggressive and tactically diverse. New death animations have been added, sound effect synchronization has been improved, and crashes occurring when loading saves have been resolved.

The developers emphasized that all changes will be reflected in the final version of the game, the release date of which has not yet been announced. Alkimia Interactive continues to collect player feedback in order to make the remake both as authentic and modern as possible.
