Dying Light 2 is one of the most anticipated games of the past few years. Due to understandable reasons, the developers had to postpone the game's release. However, they have not provided any specific completion dates. For a long time, there was no information about whether work on the project was continuing or not, as the situation with the coronavirus greatly affected the speed and quality of work. There were many rumors, but recently, the developers from Techland studio have become more active in communicating with fans and have provided a lot of information about the game.

Thus, we recently learned new information about the stages of game development. Dying Light 2 is currently in the final stage of development. This was unexpectedly announced by a manager from Techland studio. The thing is, many believed the rumors that Microsoft was planning to acquire Techland studio. Many people believed it, and some still do. Techland got tired of all this and commented on the situation. According to the studio manager, all of this is completely false.

We are an independent studio and do not currently need new publishers.

Whether this is good or bad cannot be said with certainty. On the one hand, the developers could have gotten an incredibly wealthy and "kind" publisher since, as we know, Microsoft doesn't restrict game studios (we saw that after the acquisition of Bethesda). However, since Techland is an independent studio, they have much more freedom, and they can calmly delay games, implement anything they want, without fearing conflicts with the publisher. In conclusion to dispel the rumors about Techland's acquisition, the manager announced that development is progressing at full speed, everything is going smoothly, and they have reached the final stage of Dying Light 2's development.
