During the game and exploration of the Black Rift, the player will encounter dangerous enemies on their path. The most serious ones are the ideologues. They need to be defeated in one day, but it will be challenging to do so. The player will have to kill the same ideologues multiple times. However, as a reward, the hero will receive ingots representing unique abilities.

In total, the game features five different unique items. However, Colt can only use two ingots simultaneously. Additionally, each ingot has only two active enhancements, and there are only four enhancements available per ability.

How to find all the ingots

In Deathloop, there are nine ideologues. Two of them are Julianne and Colt, and not all of them have ingots. For example, defeating Wenjie will not give the hero any enhancements. This character is only necessary for the story and acquiring residuum. Defeating Frank allows the hero to obtain one of the four unique weapons. However, ingots can be obtained from Charlie, Fia, Alexis, Harriet, and Egor's ideologues:

  • You can obtain "Shift" after defeating Charlie.
  • Fia has the ingot called "Affect."
  • Alexis possesses "Carnesis."
  • Harriet awaits the hero with the ingot called "Link."
  • You can take the ingot "Ether" from Egor.

In addition, Julianne can also use the ingots. Initially, she drops one ingot, but later on, she drops two. This allows Julianne to become stronger and gain two abilities.

Characteristics of the ingots

Each ingot has its specific abilities. Before deciding on enhancements, it is necessary to familiarize oneself with all of them:

  • Ether grants the player the ability to become almost completely invisible.
  • Shift allows teleportation over short distances.
  • With Carnesis, the player can throw enemies around and inflict damage on them.
  • Using Link, the player can connect enemies, so when damage is inflicted on one opponent, the other also gets damaged.
  • Affect makes the character stronger, significantly improving their melee combat skills.

What enhancements are available for the ingots and how to find them

It is important to remember one valuable piece of advice: as soon as an ingot is unlocked, it should be immediately infused with residuum. This way, the next time an enemy is defeated, an enhancement will drop instead of another ingot. The enhancement also needs to be infused with residuum. Thus, it is possible to collect all the enhancements for each ingot.

To obtain "Ether" and all its four enhancements, the player will have to fight Egor five times and kill him. It can be done in fewer attempts, but at least once, this ingot must drop from Julianne. Only when all enhancements are collected and infused with residuum will the task from the "Leads: Arsenal" category be completed.

Benefits of enhancements

"Affect" has the following enhancements:

  • Withdrawal Syndrome: Allows the hero to restore some energy when dealing damage to enemies.
  • Backlash: When "Affect" expires, a powerful energy surge occurs, damaging enemies.
  • Bastion: With this enhancement, enemy hits do not deplete the hero's energy. However, "Affect" depletes energy faster, and the hero's speed is reduced.
  • Euphoria: "Affect" must be active. In this case, as the amount of damage taken increases, the melee attack's strength also increases.

For "Entanglement," the enhancements are as follows:

  • Parasite: When an enemy takes damage, the hero's health is restored.
  • Impact: All enemies affected by "Entanglement" are connected to those nearby.
  • Slowdown: Entanglement gradually reduces energy.
  • Attraction: In a stable state, "Entanglement" continues to pursue the enemy.

"Carnesis" has the following enhancements:

  • Suspension: Thrown enemies remain in the air, making them easy to destroy.
  • Meat Bomb: An enemy thrown by Carnesis explodes upon landing.
  • Knockout: If Carnesis is applied again to an affected enemy, it will throw them to the ground.
  • Zone: Allows for the displacement of multiple enemies at once.

For "Ether," the enhancements are as follows:

  • Glimmer: The effect persists when attacking an enemy, but the hero temporarily becomes visible.
  • Phantom: Energy is not consumed during movement.
  • Phase: The effect of Ether does not cease when receiving damage.
  • Erasure: If an enemy is destroyed while Ether is active, nothing remains of them.

"Shift" has the following enhancements:

  • Long Arms: The hero can teleport over long distances.
  • Flight: If Shift is used in the air, it is possible to slow down the descent.
  • Jump Strike: If a kick is delivered during Shift, it creates a powerful sound wave.
  • Swapper: Allows the hero to swap places with an enemy using Shift.
