Clones Attack: Best Alternatives to GTA Game

It's not surprising that the legendary GTA series has become so beloved. It combines freedom of action, satire, and charismatic characters.

Best GTA Game Alternatives. Part 2

In this article, we will talk about games that are similar to or reminiscent of GTA. Let's go!

SAINTS ROW

This is a cool game where you can do absolutely everything: fight gangs, aliens, talk to God, and much more. In addition to all the usual weapons, exclusive ones are available: a toilet launcher, a dubstep gun, and more.

If you remove all the trashiness from the game series, it's practically a GTA analog with the same shootouts, chases, and artifact hunting. The game offers a huge number of customizations for your character.

SLEEPING DOGS

Technically, this game should have been a continuation of the aforementioned SAINTS ROW, but Square Enix bought out all the developments and made a completely new game based on it called SLEEPING DOGS. The development rights still belong to the same old publisher, so the project was given a new name.

The game's story shows us the story of a police officer who fights for justice. He joins a local gang and pretends to be one of them in order to eventually destroy it from within.

The story has many twists and turns and various adventures. The gameplay and character detail are particularly impressive. Sleeping Dogs recreates the city of Hong Kong with such meticulousness and realism that it's impossible to distinguish from the real thing.

WATCH DOGS

Prior to the release of the first installment, Ubisoft positioned this game as a direct competitor to GTA, but as we already know, miracles didn't happen. Truth be told, the game turned out to be excellent: an open world, cool gameplay mechanics, and much more.

When the new game series was being developed, the creators didn't make grand statements about it, they simply released a worthy successor to the first installment. All the mistakes of the first part were fixed and improved. Watch Dogs 2 recreates the city of San Francisco in the smallest detail. It can rightfully be considered a GTA 5 analog.

JUST CAUSE

The game world in Just Cause is truly astonishing - it's incredibly vast. In the game, you have complete freedom of action and a vibrant setting. As a pleasant bonus, you also get a guide on how to overthrow authorities in third-world countries.

The main character is Rico, a CIA agent who knows how to handle all kinds of weapons and control all types of transportation. Each game installment is dedicated to overthrowing another authority that commits genocide against its own people and extends its influence beyond the country's borders.

If you wish, you can ignore the main storyline and simply create chaos wherever and whenever you want. There is also a cooperative play option.

BULLY

The creators of GTA did their best and made the best of its kind hoodlum simulator. The game gives you a unique opportunity to go back to school days and do things you can't do now (for many of us :D). You can study, engage in mischief, date girls, and much more.

The game covers one year of Hopkins' education (that's the name of the main character). You have to challenge the authority of local gangs, put all the hooligans in their place, and find the love of your life.

Despite the simplicity and straightforwardness of the storyline, the game tackles very serious themes of human coming-of-age. To keep you entertained, the creators came up with and added excellent mini-games.

YAKUZA

Yakuza was initially developed exclusively for consoles, but now you can play it on PC too. It's a legendary game that impresses with its dynamic gameplay and storyline.

What is Yakuza all about? It's a straightforward action game that showcases the underbelly of the criminal world in Japan. The developers did a great job and prepared not only a large number of activities but also well-drawn characters, great soundtrack, and unexpected twists of fate.

Unfortunately, the game does not have Russian language support. However, it is a really good project, so you can tolerate the lack of localization.

CRACKDOWN 3

It's safe to say that CRACKDOWN 3 is GTA on steroids. You can do whatever you want in it. On PC, you can only play the third installment, but it's definitely worth it.

The main character is a super agent who crushes everything in his path, only killing criminals. With the use of superpowers, the main character can do incredible things: throwing cars, running ultra-fast, and much more. The game will definitely help you relieve stress after a hard day of work.

FAR CRY 5

If we look at the structure of Far Cry 5, it's completely different from GTA. However, the storyline here, like in Grand Theft Auto, takes a backseat.

You can do whatever you want. The events that unfold during your free exploration will eventually lead you to the end of the game, but with your own story.

MAFIA

Mafia 3 is almost like GTA in many ways. The first two parts, although they offered some freedom, still prioritized mission-based gameplay.

The third Mafia is an excellent GTA analog where you can ride any car, kill people, and run around with guns. When you get tired of crushing and robbing, start following the storyline; it's also very captivating and rich.

RED DEAD REDEMPTION

It's the best sandbox game about the Wild West and an excellent GTA analog. The second installment of the game is available for PC, but the first one was made exclusively for consoles.

The main character is a cowboy who has direct ties to the criminal world. He has complete freedom: he can do whatever he wants.
