Melee weapons in Starfield are poorly designed. The modification buffs almost all melee weapons and sorts them into two categories: - Low damage, high crit; - High damage, low crit. Thus, if you use a knife, it will have low damage, which will be compensated by high crits. If you use a heavy weapon, such weapons will have high damage, but weak crits.
