Hitman 3: All Easter Eggs and References in the Game
The Hitman series has always been filled with references, and the third installment is no exception.
In this article, we will tell you about the most interesting easter eggs and references in Hitman 3. Let's go!
The Twisted Skyscraper in Dubai
When you find yourself in Dubai, you'll notice a large twisted structure. No matter how the building looks, it actually exists in Dubai and is called the "Cayan Tower." The tower has a truly amazing shape and is a testament to the art of the world.
No Ducks
All Hitman: Codename 47 fans should remember the rubber yellow duck - it was the favorite toy of the NPCs in the first game. When you found the duck and gave it to them, they would provide the main character with all the necessary information. As an easter egg, this duck was also present in Blood Money.
Hitman 3 is no exception, and the developers came up with a certain game mascot, but they made the duck white. In the first and second games, the duck was disguised as an explosive.
In the Berlin location of the third game, you can notice a concrete block with the inscription "No Entry." Go straight to it, and there will be the legendary duck, but it's no longer explosive.
Alan, Please Add Details
This easter egg has its origins long before Christmas. In the Hitman of that time, gamers could find a tray with a lobster and a specific caption: "Alan, Please Add Details."
It is unknown whether this was a random occurrence or a planned bug, but the developers left this detail. Several very specific memes were born from it.
In Hitman 3, you will encounter this phrase on notes.
Potato Jesus and His Advent
This reference didn't come out of thin air, and it has a real backstory - the unsuccessful restoration of a fresco. Gamers know this graphical mode as the "Potato Mode." It's when a player removes all possible graphic settings and gets a potato-like mode.
This easter egg was discovered in the second Hitman, but not immediately, but after 2 years.
In Hitman 3, you can find this easter egg on the Berlin map, specifically on level 2.
Make your way to Hirschmuller's office. There will be two rooms, and one of them is a utility room - that's where you should go. Among the piles of junk, you will find this painting.
Easter Egg on the Film "Knives Out"
The main storyline "Death in the Family" is nothing more than a reference to the famous film. The masterpiece was brought to light by director Ryan Johnson. If the agent takes on the role of a detective, there are even too many coincidences.
- The game and the film start almost identically.
- A murder occurs in one of the houses - coincidental?
- An inheritance division begins.
- The main characters in the film are almost identical to those in the game.
- A significant number of identical scenes.
It's really cool that the developers were inspired by the film and created their own little action.
Easter Egg on the Club "Berghain"
One location in the Hitman 3 game world is almost an exact replica of a real BDSM gay club.
The main character in one of the quests finds himself on a platform where two clubs are located: one playing heavy rock, and the other playing club music. In real life, this establishment is known throughout Europe.
In both realities, there is always a crowd of people near the club who want to get inside and have a great time. The club has four floors: two underground and two above ground.
Easter Egg for the game "Freedom Fighters"
Don't leave Berlin too soon, there's something interesting for you here. In the club on the ground floor, there is a pool table. Do you see anything unusual?
Does the arcade machine with the game "Freedom Fighters" surprise you? It's a game developed by the creators of Hitman, but back in 2003. You will see the intro screen from that game.
The third floor of the same club has another easter egg. Enter the room that connects the two clubs. There is a bathroom with a pineapple and a sponge. It's a reference to the legendary cartoon "SpongeBob SquarePants," somewhat reminiscent of what we saw in Hitman 2.
Easter Egg for "E.T."
Go up to the roof of the biker club and look closely, you should notice a bicycle with a basket.
You will see all of this in the moonlight, and it will trigger a flashback to the movie "E.T." when the characters fly on a bicycle. We don't know if it's a direct reference, but the bike ended up there somehow.
Remember the white duck? Not far from it, in the forest, there is a chair facing the lake. But the easter egg won't be accessible until you find and steal the idol from the club owner's office.
The item will be inside a safe that requires a code (enter 1989). Take the idol and bring it to the chair.
Only after that will the easter egg activate. You will see a hippo emerging from the lake, saying to you: "Don't trust anyone."
Easter Egg for "The Lord of the Rings"
The fifth mission involves infiltrating the villa of your potential target. Try to enter through the main entrance, but the guards won't let you in. However, you're here to pay attention to the sign.
It contains the inscription: "No admittance except on party business." The same inscription is found on the door of Bilbo's house in "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring."
Reference to the first part of Hitman (secret ending)
The final mission involves killing the villain after a conversation with him. After Agent 47 regains consciousness, he will find himself in the same room as in "Hitman: Codename 47," and he will hear the same speech. In terms of the storyline, it makes sense - the killer forgot everything and became a perfect serial killer.
These are all the easter eggs we could find in Hitman 3.
Main update of Hitman 3: new game lay with a multi-functional camera.
