Banners 4.3: who to pull out in Genshin Impact

18 dec 2023 at 11:02

Only a few days remain until the end of the banners featuring characters Ayato (Kamisato Ayato) and Cyno (Cyno), followed by the final update of 2023, version 4.3. These banners will introduce players to both new and returning characters, all of whom are beautiful girls that will make excellent additions to your squads.

If you're still undecided about pulling for characters in version 4.3 and whom to spend your precious Primogems on, let's delve into it.

Navia

  • Weapon: Polearm
  • Vision: Geo
  • Constellation: Wild Rose (Rosa Multiflora)
  • Region: Fontaine
  • Model: Tall female
  • Titles: Head, leader, boss, commander of Spina di Rosula (Spina di Rosula)

Navia (Navia) – the sole new character in the 4.3 update and the leader of the Spina di Rosula organization. She is a cute, cheerful, yet brave and dedicated girl. In patches 4.0-4.2, players had the chance to explore the character's lore, dive into her challenges, and decide whether to add the Geo polearm user to their squad. Navia played a significant role in the fate of Fontaine and the Hydro Archon Hudro.

Navia's role is the main damage dealer. She excels in triggering the Crystallize reaction and finally adds diversity to the list of Geo characters. Navia will particularly appeal to players who love the Geo element and want to add variety to their battles. Her polearm feels fresh, especially after developers actively promoted the Dendro element and the game through the Bloom mechanism.

It's worth noting that the last Geo character was released on January 5, 2022 – Yun Jin. Almost two years have passed without the release of Geo Vision wielders.

Raiden Shogun

  • Weapon: Polearm
  • Vision: Electro
  • Constellation: Imperatrix Umbrosa
  • Region: Inazuma
  • Model: Tall female
  • Titles: Her Eternal Excellency

Raiden Shogun (Raiden Shogun) – the Electro Archon and ruler of Inazuma. Raiden serves as both the main and sub-DPS. Initially, players found the mechanics of the Electro Archon to be too complex and demanding. Raiden's main stat is energy regeneration, which forms the primary damage of her ultimate. All damage comes from the ultimate, and the character's main strength is the instant restoration of the ultimate for all characters in the team.

The traditional and most popular team, where Raiden deals the main damage, is called the "national team." It is one of the most powerful teams in the game, excelling in both the Abyss and defeating formidable bosses. Raiden is supported by Bennett, who buffs attack power and periodically heals the team, Xiangling and Xingqiu, who deal significant damage and apply statuses.

Raiden's mechanics are quite straightforward. You only need to remember the main rule: first, use the elemental skill, then activate the ultimates of all characters in the team and accumulate Resolve – the orbs in the circle that appears behind Raiden and other team members, and finally, activate Raiden's ultimate to deal colossal Electro damage.

Overall, she is an incredibly powerful, beautiful character with an interesting lore and a pleasant design. This is why Raiden has become a favorite of players. The Archon works well in any team that requires energy replenishment and is useful as a sub-DPS. You won't go wrong choosing her.

Ayaka

  • Weapon: Sword
  • Vision: Cryo
  • Constellation: Grus Nivis
  • Region: Inazuma
  • Model: Medium female
  • Titles: Master of the Kamisato Art of the Tatara, daughter of the Kamisato Clan, Shirogane Himegimi (Daughter of the Yashiro Commission's Kamisato Clan)

Ayaka (Kamisato Ayaka) will appear in the new banner following her elder brother, Kamisato Ayato. The younger Kamisato sibling remains one of the strongest Cryo damage dealers, on par with Ganyu and Rosaria, managing the Fortress of Meropide.

Ayaka has a Cryo infusion that triggers immediately after sprinting. With her help, it's easy to freeze enemies, especially if you have a Hydro applicator constantly maintaining the status in your squad. The combination of two Cryo characters + Hydro + Venti/Kazuha swirl is an indispensable Abyss leader that will help you deal with the half of the floor where Pyro enemies appear. This is particularly relevant for the latest Abyss version, where you will encounter Pyro Abyss Lecturers – quite formidable and strong enemies, multiple times.

Ayaka's main damage comes from the elemental burst – a literal ice storm with significant Cryo damage. And if you also use a swirl and add a bit of Hydro status, enemies will die in seconds, without even touching you.

One detail that may seem like a downside is that Ayaka goes underground during sprinting, similar to Mona. It takes some getting used to, especially during combat, as infusion is needed and important.

By the way, Ayaka was a favorite among developers. The character's model was added to the game files at the very beginning when only Mondstadt and Liyue existed in the game.

Yoimiya

  • Weapon: Bow
  • Vision: Pyro
  • Constellation: Carassius Auratus
  • Region: Inazuma
  • Model: Medium female
  • Titles: Owner of Naganohara Fireworks, Queen of the Summer Festival

Completing the list is Yoimiya (Yoimiya) – the Pyro archer from Inazuma. She is a positive, cheerful, and sometimes fiery owner of the Naganohara Fireworks shop.

Yoimiya creates incredible fireworks, making her the main source of celebration in Inazuma. She creates fireworks with her dad, who became a bit deaf due to the nature of his work.

Yoimiya is often described as a five-star version of Amber. The girl has a infusion – she attacks from a distance without the need to constantly use the elemental skill. Shots automatically target the nearest enemy. Yoimiya's ultimate buffs attack power, but not for herself, for other members of the squad. This is the slight challenge of the character. The Pyro archer is more suitable against groups of enemies than against dense and powerful foes.

Nevertheless, Yoimiya deals huge single-target damage – she sets records. The girl is suitable for squads that play with Overload (Overload) – enemies don't get knocked back from Yoimiya's attacks, making it easier to gather and quickly eliminate them. She is optimal for reactions.

Who to Pull for in 4.3?

As you can see, the choice is quite challenging. Each character is interesting, powerful, deals a lot of damage, and excels in the role of the main damage dealer. In this case, it's easiest to rely on the waifu factor and think about which girl you like the most in terms of lore, appearance, and gameplay.

Ayaka – one of the best Cryo damage dealers who fits perfectly into a team with Shenhe, Xingqiu, or Yelan, and Kazuha. Any floor of the Abyss will be obliterated in seconds.

Raiden – a character with an intriguing storyline and gameplay, offering significant damage. The downside is the need to understand the mechanics and follow the rotation. A favorite of players who enjoy assembling Archons and beautiful ladies in their squads.

Navia – a newcomer and a long-awaited Geo damage dealer, a key character in the Fontaine storyline. Developers have really put effort into the design of characters from the new region – they look more interesting and thoughtful. And don't forget about her charismatic animations with glasses and umbrella tossing.

Yoimiya – a Pyro archer with a simple but quite interesting story. She will appeal to players who are used to playing with archers and dealing primary damage from a distance.

In any case, you won't go wrong. All the characters are worthy of attention.
