How to Meet Aunt Ethel

Head to Druid's Grove, where Aunt Ethel will be selling potions. She will offer to solve the parasite problem and invite you to her hideout. During the meeting with Ethel, you will also encounter two young men - Mairina's brothers. Regardless of your choices during the dialogue, both brothers will die.

Choose Healing or Refusal

You will first meet Mairina when you enter Ethel's hideout. The old woman will feed the captive a pie, revealing that the girl is pregnant. It's recommended not to mention the killed brothers and proceed directly to healing. Aunt Ethel will agree to heal you, but at a cost - your own eye.

Action options:

• Give up your eye. Ethel will reveal her true form. The hero will lose an eye and gain the "Price Paid" status, but the parasite won't be eliminated. You will receive the Karga's Eye item, which grants +1 to Intimidation checks but adds debuffs during combat with the old woman and checks for attention.
• Refuse treatment. This choice will not lead to any consequences.

After refusal, you can immediately set out to rescue Mairina. Ethel will hide her with a wave of her hand. Your task is to locate the girl.

How to Find Mairina

Descend to the first floor to the fireplace. Upon inspection, you'll find that it's fake. To pass through the hearth, you need to extinguish it using a skill.

In the Overgrown Tunnel, you will encounter Ethel in her true form. You will have several options. Choose: "Tell me where Mairina is." Regardless of the answer, Karga will flee. The battle with her will happen later.

How to Enter the Door

In the room with other prisoners, there's a door you need to pass through. Enter the left room and take the special item - the Whispering Mask. Equip it on one of your characters.

Passing Through the Overgrown Tunnel

On the way, you'll have a fight with Karga's henchmen - the Masks. You can't save them. After the battle, proceed to the waterfall, avoiding traps and poisonous clouds.

How to Defeat Ethel

As soon as you enter the Ancient Sanctuary, a battle with Ethel will begin. Before the fight, she will set the cage holding Mairina on fire. Extinguish the fire to save the girl.

The battle with Ethel is divided into phases:

1. Karga creates duplicates. To make them disappear, inflict any damage.
2. Karga pulls Mairina out of the cage and creates her duplicate. Be careful not to damage the real Mairina. Typically, the girl says, "I'm not Ethel, I promise."
3. Karga creates her copies again and becomes invisible. Destroy the copies and locate Ethel.

Once Karga's health drops to 10%, you'll be given a choice: agree to Ethel's offer to spare her life and receive +1 to any attribute but lose Mairina, or refuse and finish her off. An alternative option is to intimidate Karga, gaining +1 to attributes and saving Mairina's life. In this case, Ethel survives and promises revenge.

If you decide to kill Karga, you'll receive the Darkened Talisman, which will ease the Trial of Death later. Don't forget to loot the workshop after the battle with Ethel.
